Greenwala has now launched its Socially Conscience Contest for everyone to enter!
There are 3 different contest. One for cooking, one for photographers and one for designers. You dont necessarily have to be a master at any of those topics to enter, just the motivation to actually do it!
The first one is about cooking your favorite meal using organic ingredients. It can be a summer time salad, a party dip or a breakfast quiche! Just make sure its good for you and good for Mother Nature. Record yourself cooking this meal and submit it to Greenwala. Come back and vote on it, get your friends to vote and you could win $250 to Whole Foods. Not only do you win but Greenwala will give $250 to KIVA, the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend directly to unique entrepreneurs around the globe.
The other contest is for those that want to show the Earth they appreciate it by giving it a big 'ol hug! Snap a photo of you hugging a tree and submit it to win $250 and a new canon PowerShot! Plus Greenwala will donate $250 to Trees for the Future to help them plant 250 more trees around the world!
The last contest is about designing a green t-shirt for Greenwala. It can be a simple saying or a funky design as long as it portrays the message about being green. The winner will win $250 and so will Ashoka. Ashoka is the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs—men and women with system changing solutions for the world’s most urgent social problems.
So what are you waiting for? The only thing you have to loose is a couple minutes of your time but you have lots to gain!!

I'm so glad to see that you are blogging about Greenwala and raising awareness about their new contest platform. I've been a member there for about 8 months now and being in that environment has really helped me to lead a more eco-responsible lifestyle. I've learned more than I possibly could have on my own just by reading other community member posts and writing many of my own. Beyond that, it's really just a fulfilling place to be -- one that reminds you that you can actually do something fun while making a real positive impact.
ReplyDeletePLUS, they plant a tree for every new member who signs up courtesy of the non-profit group "Trees For The Future". In my opinion, the contests are just the icing on the cake. :)
